Labo Doodle: Drawing Games
by Labo Lado Inc.
Labo Doodle is all about drawing and colouring. Kids select a cartoony character they want to draw, or let the app generate one randomly for them in several different fun ways, and then they can customize the character with different eyes, ears, face shapes, bodies and more. The app then guides kids through the steps of drawing the character. Then kids can colour in the character, add stickers and put it in their gallery of art. If they don’t want to draw a pre-made character, they can start with a blank canvas and draw whatever they’d like. The app also lets kids upload their creations to an online gallery (without names), and see the creations of others. There’s a surprising amount of characters to draw when you include all of the customizations, and the step-by-step drawing process works well. Labo Doodle can be downloaded for free, with an in-app purchase to unlock all content.
Wonderland: My Little Mermaid
by My Town Games Ltd
Wonderland: My Little Mermaid is another doll house style app in which My Town Games specializes. Kids can explore several locations in the undersea kingdom, freely playing with and posing the mermaids, their accessories and clothing, food, cupboards, treasure chests, sunken ships, and much more. On a large enough device, kids can play together as more than one mermaid can be moved around at once. The graphics are clean and colourful, and there are plenty of things to play with, and of course the point of an app like this is to simply let kids play and use their imaginations. The app is ad-supported, so kids will sometimes get interrupted by ads when moving between locations, which I am not a fan of, but ads can be removed with an in-app purchase.
