Number Diner
by Ignacio Shiefelbein
In Number Diner, players run a burger restaurant while practicing math. The math is not overt in that there are no drills or quizzes, but it is cleverly incorporated into the game itself. Kids purchase ingredients, create burgers to offer for sale, and then sell them to customers. Customers order multiple items from the menu, and the player must figure out the final cost of their order using multiplication and addition. There are also special deals on ingredients offered most days, and it is up to the player to do the math to see if it is a good deal or not. As the player progresses in the game, new ingredients unlock, as well as special items and customers that request new types of burgers. Number Diner works well as a game, and that will keep kids coming back to practice their math skills.
Animal Habitats & Ecosystems
by Tappity, Inc.
Animal Habitats is a stand alone app from Tappity covering ecosystems. We reviewed their main app a few weeks ago, which covers a wide range of science topics. In essence, this Ecosystems app provides lessons on ecosystems for a one-time in-app purchase instead of a recurring monthly subscription. Lessons cover the parts of an ecosystem, why the different parts are important, animal classification, and more. The lessons are quite well made with some interactive elements, and quizzes to test your knowledge. The first few lessons are free to try, with a single in-app purchase unlocking the rest.

Thanks for talking about Number Diner! I dropped the price to $1.99 to celebrate the game’s launch!
