Think!Think! Puzzle for Kids
by WonderLab Inc.
Think!Think! presents kids with a selection of logic puzzles that they can play once per day. The puzzles are simple, but creative, such as finding a path that links light bulbs to a generator, thinking about the perspective and how things look from different angles, or deciding whether a pattern of connected squares can be folded into a box. There are over one hundred puzzles in total, with different ones available each day. It also includes weekly challenges, with more involved puzzles that increase in difficulty and can be quite challenging at the highest levels. The play limits helps keep the game fresh daily, and may alleviate concerns over too much screen time. The free version offers one user one play per day, and a limited selection of puzzles, with the standard and premium subscription tiers granting room for more users, three plays per day, and a wider selection of puzzles to choose from.
Little Amal
by Alchemy VR Ltd
Little Amal is a story, with some simple interactive elements, about a nine-year old Syrian refugee and her trip across Europe to find her mother and to find a home. The nearly wordless story is animated in an evocative style with muted colors to highlight the plight of the girl. The story does contain darker elements like warplanes flying overhead, refugee camps, protests, and dangerous crossings, but also lighter elements like friendship, memories and hope. The interactive elements tend to be simple, such as putting together a photograph, pulling a boot out of the mud, or building a shelter. Little Amal is based on The Walk, a travelling 3.5 meter puppet which made the journey in real life, and is accepting donations to help child refugees (the app itself is free).
