Dinosaur Math – Learning Games
by Yateland
Dinosaur Math teaches numbers, and basic addition and subtraction using number blocks and competitive games. Younger kids can start with counting blocks, and the app uses a fun and interesting mechanism where blocks can be stuck together to make bigger numbers or split apart to make smaller numbers. A train race rounds out the counting section, where kids must tap on the correct number to keep their train going. Slightly older kids can jump into addition and subtraction, using blocks and numerals, and then take their knowledge into robot battles where they answer math questions in order to win. The app rewards kids with train and robot parts they can collect and use in order to encourage learning. The app is free to try with in-app purchases, or a subscription, to unlock more content.
Zorp Meets Earth
by Renate Rose
Zorp Meets Earth tells a story with an environmental message featuring friendly aliens on a distant world. The tale is fully narrated in American Sign Language. The story can be fully narrated in sign language, or kids can read it to themselves. Kids can also tap on words and phrases in the story to learn the word. Finally, a learning section breaks out many different words to learn in ASL. Zorp Meets Earth is a well-designed and produced app for those fluent in ASL, or those looking to learn.
