Action Puzzle
by Joachim Mertens
Action Puzzle, as it suggests, is a puzzle game with a twist. The puzzle images are alive with blocky people, cars, planes, ships going about their daily business against equally blocky landscapes and cityscapes. The images don’t just move after you’ve completed the puzzle, it is continually in motion and even the images on the puzzle pieces move. The number of pieces in the puzzle can be configured from 12 to 48, and pieces are fed to kids two at a time, so there isn’t an overwhelming number of puzzle pieces on the screen at once. Eight puzzles are available for free, with an additional eight available with an in-app purchase.
Feelu: Explore Kids’ Feelings
by Little Whale
Feelu explores feelings with child-friendly explanations and illustrations. The app covers ten emotions ranging from happy to angry to worried and calm. Each comes with explanations of what the emotion feels like to a kid and situations when it can occur, plus ideas on how to handle the emotion. There are additional sections on being kind, being mindful, and suggestions for handling bullying. Kids can also track how they are feeling with a simple grid, or play a game where they match emotions to pictures. Everything is clearly narrated and professionally illustrated.
