Tutankhamun AR
by Crayon Box Inc.
Tutankhamun AR includes models and information about Ancient Egypt in an augmented reality package. There are six sections, from the tomb of Tutankhamun himself, to the pyramids, the sphinx, murals, and more. Each section offers 3D models, so you can put the pyramids in your living room, with bite-sized facts about each part, such as what are the chambers inside the pyramid. Being AR, you can use your camera to take pictures posing with the sphinx, or with the mask of Tutankhamun. The augmented reality is optional, so you can still get all the benefits of the app without using the camera. There is a good bit of information in the app, but the sections are fairly short. It is not an exhaustive or deep exploration of Ancient Egypt, but more of a fun way of bringing these things into our world.
Word Addiction
Century Game Company LLC
Word Addiction is a scrabble-like game of creating words out of letter tiles. You are presented with a checkerboard with the traditional squares and also special squares that allow you to bridge or block words to make gameplay more challenging. All tiles are visible to all players and sit around the edge of the board. On your turn you roll a dice and are able to use that number of tiles to create words and score points by placing the tiles on the board. The game can be played together using a pass-and-play function on the same device, or you can play online, or interestingly it is also perfectly playable solo. The game comes with several beginner level boards for free, and requires in-app purchases for more boards.
Ancient Giant Paperclip Squid
“Diplomoceras maximum lived about 68 million years ago, making it a contemporary of Tyrannosaurus rex . It was an ammonite – a now-extinct group of tentacled cephalopods – and it had a distinctive paperclip-shaped shell.”
Not only that, but they were 1.5 meters long.
