Universe in a Nutshell
by Kurzgesagt GmbH

Universe in a Nutshell shows the scale of things from the subatomic level to the edges of the known universe. The app starts at human scale, and using the familiar pinch to zoom, you can move up into buildings, planets and galaxies, or down through tiny organisms, atoms, quarks and more. There are 250 objects, and you can tap on each to get more information. The illustrations are beautiful (though more stylized than realistic) and the explanations are witty. This is a wonderful app for the child that likes to explore.

Marching Order
SFB Games Ltd.

Marching order is a logic game where you piece together a series of clues to determine the order in which to place cartoon animals in a marching band. Each animal in the band will only be happy in a certain place relative to the other animals and you are encouraged to read the clues, decide the order, and make the minimum number of moves to get the animals in the right order. Naturally, the puzzles start easy and get harder as you progress, and you can even turn on a timer to crank up the pressure. Marching Order is a cute, family-friendly game and a lot more fun than word problems on a test.

Arabian Sand Cat

Sand cats live in the Sahara and Arabian deserts with little water and extreme temperatures. They are also incredibly cute.
