App Friday April 17th, 2020

This week we offer up more apps to play, books to read, and activities to do while physically distancing at home. Kids can learn about bees, play free preschool games, read free e-books, and recreate art with everyday objects at home.

Honey Tina and Bees
by Tangible Fun, S.L.

Honey Tina and Bees tells the story of Tina the bee as she navigates her way through the bee society, and teaches kids about the life of bees along the way. The story comes with many interactive activities such as cleaning the hive, finding pollen, identifying plants and running through a maze. I did notice a button with Spanish instead of English, but the main story and dialogue is well written and the quality of the narration is very good. Graphics are good with a slightly quirky art style. The free version comes with advertisements, or you can purchase the full paid version.

Getty Museum Challenge

The Getty Museum issued a challenge to recreate pieces of art from their archives using objects you have at home, and of course the results are often funny and always creative. We did one ourselves (no, not one of the featured ones) and found it to be a lot of fun.
