Family5 – Activities & Goals
by Luccel Pte. Ltd.
“Family5” is a parenting app that offers tips and short activities that families can do to promote both quality time and the development of skills like creativity and critical thinking. Activities are brief and include things like guessing what emotion a family member is trying to portray, or saying something positive at the end of a competition – win or lose. Families can use the app to track their participation, set goals, and rate the activities. There are also sections for dealing with common situations (‘my child is being defiant’). Requires sign-in, but currently has no in-app purchases.
Bo’s Bedtime Story
by Heppi
“Bo’s Bedtime Story” is a classic sequence of activities about Bo the giraffe getting ready for bed. Young kids help Bo put toys away, take a bath, pick out pajamas, brush teeth, and find a favorite stuffed toy. The animation and narration still hold up well. Free as of this writing, and if you enjoy the characters, Heppi is working on a video series. You can learn more about it at their website (https://www.heppi.nl).
Developers Can Create Custom Apps for Schools
There many apps created for individual schools and, for iOS, all of them currently have to live on the App Store. I’m not sure if they’ll migrate to this solution, but it is an interesting option.
Apple says developers can now offer custom apps to schools via Apple School Manager
