Train Kit: Space
by Funobi
Train Kit is a free-form build and play train set app, but with a backdrop of other planets. Kids build their train track from an impressive assortment of pieces, including tunnels and junctions, then decorate the landscape with suitable animated buildings and scenery including hydroponics labs, rockets (that launch), solar arrays, alien looking structures and more. Finally, they pick a train and see it navigate their creation, or better still, they can get a train’s eye view in 3D as it moves along the track. It’s all impressively well done, and great for the creative young train and space enthusiast.
Green Rank: Save Our Oceans
by Gagos Green
Green Rank is a story with some interactive elements about small things that can help make a difference. Ge wonders what they can do to help protect the ocean, and then finds things to help, like cleaning up a beach, and turning off the water when brushing his teeth. Kids actually perform these tasks by tapping on faucets or dragging empty water bottles off the beach. The story is narrated, but does not highlight words as they are read. It isn’t a new app, but has been consistently updated, and is still worth a look.
