App Friday Deals
What’s happening at www.appfriday.com? I see two puzzle apps, an iBook, and even an app for 5th Grade Language Arts. It seems like a growing trend that some apps are offered for free as a standard price, but with purchase capabilities inside of the app. That’s called “In App Purchase” – or on the grid, “Disc.IAP”. As a parent, be aware of how those purchases work in advance, so you know what to expect.

New: Puppet Workshop
Congratulations to Sebastian of Jump App on his new release: Puppet Workshop. I just downloaded the app, and am happy to see that he included a “Parents Section” after a press & hold instruction. He also has disclosures on his app store screenshot, so parents can learn about the features before downloading it. Classy job!
Jellybean Tunes App Report: Volume 68
Here is another tip for parents… I see an app in the App Report called “Sand Draw”, and I’m interested in it because it was an idea I was thinking about a couple of years ago. Neat concept. When I preview the screenshots and the app store description, I notice a couple of things: 1) category is entertainment, not education, so it’s likely to be geared to a general audience, not just kids, and 2) there is a Facebook/Image button as part of the options, so heads-up, parents with small kids should take note so they are not surprised down the line…
