A collection of news and events for app enthusiasts…
Apple’s cash has a plan: dividends and stock buy-back. I was hoping for a worldwide system of uber schools, with iPad content being created by MWA developers, but they must have missed my memo.
Meanwhile, opening weekend for the “new” iPad was clearly exciting. MWA developers showcased their apps at the San Francisco Apple store. The event went off without a hitch. We met several families, educators, app developers (and even a Facebook Fan) who stopped by to share their knowledge about apps. Thanks Rod from Alphabuild for the summary blog post!
If you are in the market for a new tablet, but aren’t quite sure which one to get, this article from Carisa at Digital Storytime shows an in-depth comparison of the Nook, Kindle Fire, and iPad.
Mobile privacy is still a subject for many conversations. Currently the European Union is in Washington DC for a conference on privacy. “Protection of Personal Data” is one of their key topics.
Networking events are plentiful – here are a few on our radar:
- March 22-23rd, BlogHer Entrepreneurs
- April 20th, Mama Bear Family Technology Conference
- April 27th, Sid the Science Kid Hackathon
- May 20th – 22nd, Dust or Magic’s App Camp
If you know of other events relevant to families, educators or app developers, please comment and I’ll update the post.
