Home & Family: Preventing Media Overload

I was asked to write a post for the “What to Expect When You’re Expecting” community, which was recently published on their Word of Mom blog. The topic I chose was about media balance in the home, which is a subject I consider often. Thinking back to raising my two daughters over the past 10 years, I offered three strategies that are working well for us, which are also emphasized by the American Academy of Pediatrics. Namely: having a media plan, choosing wholesome or educational content, and realizing that parents are a key role model.
