App Friday: More Reliance On App Descriptions

Welcome to App Friday, our weekly link exchange of family-friendly apps. I’ve been streamlining the App Friday posts to simplify the program. By clicking the links, you can read the app descriptions directly from the developer. Although I’m not interpreting each app for you, it ultimately helps us become self-reliant. Consumers learn how to decode the app store, developers focus on writing clear product information, and I have a chance at keeping the program going this summer when my kids are home. Thank you!

Download parties are hosted on the App Friday Facebook page ==> http://www.facebook.com/AppFriday. These parties are an opportunity to interact directly with the developers who create the apps, while browsing app news and grabbing a few deals. Parties are hosted by developers in different parts of the world. Check out the http://www.timeanddate.com/ site for timezone conversions.

  1. None if the links for your featured apps take me to the app description in my iphone app store. I had an iphone 3gs and it used to work fine but this week I upgraded to an iPhone 4s and now the links just take me to a blank screen in my app store. Any suggestions?

  2. Hi Christi, I just tested on my iPhone 4S and it’s working and connecting me to app store, but if the app is for iPad, not much information comes up, and there is a redirect link to find out more information about iPad, or to learn more information about the app, which then connects to the developer website. Thanks for the heads-up, I will continue to test the links. If you are at a computer, go to http://momswithapps.com and the blog post goes live there every Friday. –Lorraine
