Welcome to App Friday, our weekly link exchange of family friendly apps. This week we take a look at how two different developers approach the ABCs. Miniville Media has chosen the Alice in Wonderland theme, while MeldMedia has chosen an animal and exploration theme. Which styles do your little learners prefer? To make it easy for you to test out and enjoy, both developers have set their apps to FREE this Friday, May 13th.
What are the Miniville Media apps about, and why are they special? Miniville Media’s series of storybook apps provide fun interactive environments in a tiny 3D world. Your child will learn to explore and discover through touch! Each storybook provides hidden surprises that will invite your child to return to discover more hidden details! Our newest storybook, Miniville’s Alice in Wonderland ABC, is an ABC storybook based on Alice in Wonderland. Each letter is illustrated with original artwork and includes interactive elements. The text is read by a voice actor and the words are highlighted for the reader. Sounds and animations are triggered as you child touches characters and objects in the scenes. Every scene has big and little letter balloons that pop and say the letter when your little one touches them. A Universal app, this app will run on both your iPhone/iPod and your iPad. Miniville’s Alice in Wonderland ABC Premium App is free for App Friday. You can check out our other apps as well which all have free and paid premium versions. What is ABC Expedition about, and why is it special?ABC Expedition is an alphabet and animal learning app for kids 1-4. Its clean design and simple palette make it an app that both kids and parents will enjoy. Interactivity is simple and everything is clickable revealing letter sounds spoken by an adult voice, a child’s voice and accompanying animal sounds. There is also a section, called the ZOO, where all the animals are together and able to be pressed to hear the amazing and surprising sounds they make.
